Chargers Pick off Dolphins
The freshman Chargers defense came up with two key fourth quarter interceptions which helped propel them to their second Sea View League victory of the season. The Chargers, 2-1 in league play, entered the fourth quarter tied 14-14. With under six minutes left in the contest #15 Nick Manske came up with his biggest interception of the season setting up the Charger offense on their own 45-yard line. Consecutive runs off left tackle by #80 Logan Jolliffe pushed the ball to Dolphins 25-yard line. Three plays later ET found themselves with a fourth and one from the 16-yard line. #8 Connor Kentros took the snap from wildcat quarterback and dashed down to the one-yard line setting up first and goal. Two plays later Kentros hit pay dirt to give El Toro the lead with 3:20 left to go. The Dolphins tried to march down the field to tie the score but Kentros picked off the Dolphin quarterback to end any hopes of a comeback. The Chargers look to close out league play next week at home vs Laguna Hills.
